Some Ukraine based Ghanaian Students Refuse to Return Home

As the Ghanaian government makes frantic efforts with a lot of pressure from Ghanaians to secure the safe return of Ghanaians especially students in Ukraine which has become a target for attacks, some have refused to return.
This was made public information by the deputy foreign affairs minister, Kwaku Ampratwum-Sarpong on Friday March 4, 2022.
Apparently, the gesture by the government to procure tickets for the students to return to the country had been turned down by 15 students mostly citing reasons involving receiving the opportunity to study and be acccommodated in Hungary.
Also, parents of those students have allegedly approved of their decision not to return.
Reports also suggest that some had already left Ukraine and have been rescued after crossing the border to seek refuge in neighboring countries.
