Dr. Gillian Hammah honoured with Global Women in Marketing Award for Outstanding AI Impact

Dr Gillian Hammah, a Ghanaian marketing executive and technology advocate has been announced as winner of the 2025 Women in Marketing AI for Impact Award. This has given her a global recognition for her work in encouraging fair and inclusive use of artificial intelligence across Africa.
Dr Gillian Hammah, who is Chief Marketing Officer at Aya Data and founder of GradePoint AI, received this kind of award for leading the way in promoting responsible ethics of AI and also developing real-world solutions powered by AI that solve everyday problems in African education.
This Women in Marketing AI for Impact Award honors individuals who are leading the way by applying artificial intelligence in a way that can help promote equity, accessibility and social good. A lot of judges said Dr Gillian Hammah was recognized for her exceptional ability to connect advanced technology to create real-world impact, especially within underserved communities.
The reason why she was recognized was the development of GradePoint AI, an AI that help with grading designed for universities. This AI-powered grading assistance platform help lecturers to provide timely and personalized feedback to students at scale, addressing longstanding challenges in institutions where large class sizes and limited resources often delay assessment feedback for weeks or even an entire semester.
In many public universities across Africa, such delays have been pointed out as a big reason students are not learning well and their development. GradePoint AI seeks to close the gap and it will also allow schools that are poorly equipped offer feedback standards comparable to those in elite private universities.
Beyond the development of a product, Dr Gillian Hammah now speaks a lot about helping people understand AI and public education. Through Dr Gillian Hammah weekly “Embracing AI” column in the Business and Financial Times, she has connected with thousands of students and professionals along the way and also she breaked down some complex AI concepts for business leaders and educators.
